A few months ago we showed you the map of the world by second languages.
Now, a map which claims to show the most dense cluster of second languages in the world is being shared on social media.
The map comes from Nonstop Metropolis: A New York City Atlas, in which Rebecca Solnit and Joshua Jelly-Schapiro write:
The capital of linguistic diversity, not just for the five boroughs, but for the human species, is Queens.
According to the Endangered Language Alliance (ELA) there are up to 800 languages in New York City, and nowhere has more than Queens.

Every language only shows up once on the map, despite many being spread throughout the borough.
