Up and down the country this evening, the real hard work is getting underway.
We're talking about the counters and declaring officers who are slogging through the night to check and double check ballot papers.
However, it's not all going perfectly - the lights at a count in Leicester have gone off, but even that won't stop them.
The count continues at Aylestone Leisure Centre to find out who has won the local seat.
It's all very Blitz spirit
