People are laughing at how small the crowd was for an Owen Smith rally in Liverpool

Owen Smith is hoping to beat Jeremy Corbyn in the Labour leadership contest, promoting himself as a more electable candidate than the Islington North MP.

But some Corbyn supporters have been left scratching their heads. At a campaign stop in Liverpool on Saturday, Smith's ability to draw in the masses didn't seem quite as strong as some Labour moderates would have you believe.

It was reported that 200-300 people turned up. This appeared to be backed up by photos posted to Smith's social media accounts:

But some questioned if those photos had benefited from a generous bit of cropping...

Because the crowd looked a bit smaller from certain angles...

Certainly smaller than a rally Jeremy Corbyn held in Hull at the same time...
