The most organic countries in the world, in one map

A study of has shown that 2015 was a record year for organic farming.

A survey of the world's agricultural tendencies, carried out by the Research Institute of Organic Agriculture (FiBL) based in Switzerland, revealed on Thursday the countries who eat the most organic food.

Legal definitions vary from country to country, but 'organic' food is that which is free of artificial ingredients, and farmed without use of pesticides or chemicals.

FiBL looked at where organic food was consumed, and the countries producing it.

The survey found 179 countries had organic farms, and the produce constituted a 75 billion euro market.
