Ah, the power of the internet; it never ceases to amaze us.

This time around, the Twittersphere came together in an online ‘search party’ to help two besties reunite after more than a decade since seeing each other.

The two girls met on a dinner cruise in Hawaii in 2006, spending the night befriending each other before each going their own ways.

But yesterday, one of them, who goes by the Twitter name Bri, called out to the social media platform to help her find her long-lost friend.

She wrote:

And sure enough, a couple of hours and 81,000 retweets later, Twitter did its thing and the second pea in the pod responded:

And in true Christmas miracle fashion, the emotional reunion unfolded in front of our very own eyes:

But a physical reunion proved to be more difficult, as both of them soon discovered that they lived in different states.

So, as it goes, a GoFundMe page was set up to bring the two together.

Whether or not that will actually happen is still unclear, but at least we now can breathe a sigh of relief knowing that the two have been reunited and are also chatting privately.

Blessed be the place we call the internet!
