Nigel Farage went to number 10 Downing Street to deliver his Brexit demands to Theresa May on her last day in office – and people are mocking the party leader for it.
Losing the Peterborough by-election hasn’t curbed his enthusiasm for Brexit, and he tweeted a picture arriving at politics HQ: “The Brexit Party arrives at Downing Street to demand a seat at the EU negotiating table.”
People aren’t quite sure what he’s up to – Theresa May isn’t in Downing Street. Still, that didn’t stop him from delivering the letter:
I reads: "The electorate have asked for us to come into the negotiating team and we are ready to do so immediately.”
This is especially the case given the lack of activity and focus, due to the leadership contest.
He told BBC Radio 4:
Now, the only reason the Brexit Party wasn’t able to push a couple of hundred votes past Labour was because quite a lot of people still voted Conservative.
There are now seats like this over the country where Conservative voters are going to start to realise, if you vote Conservative, you are going to finish up with a Corbyn government.
Once that gets through, we will begin to see tactical voting.
His symbolic act of protest didn't go down well
People aren't quite sure what he's trying to achieve
Others pointed out that the negotiations are...over
Sigh.
