News host cracks a joke about 'Uranus', figuratively dies on live TV

TV news has long been a shelter for bad puns and painful segues. This one trumps them all.

Following a story on Canadian news channel CKPG about Nasa’s programme to grow food in space, sports anchor Rich Abney dropped one of the worst puns, ever.

Prepare yourself.

In response to the story, Abney quipped:

I’ve gotta say it seems like a better idea than eating food grown on Uranus.

Watch the way that pun lands.

He then delivers a brief sports bulletin before qualifying it:

Or Jupiter or Mars or one of the other planets…

It’s physically painful.
