Most New Yorkers responded the tragedy with characteristic love and resilience, but others thought it better to best to tweet about Muslim women "aimlessly walking around in hijabs".

Loomer, a right-wing conspiracy theorist and writer, appeared to find it offensive that Muslims might choose to walk around their own city, adding:

Model Gigi Hadid certainly didn't appreciate Loomer's rhetoric.
