The internet can sometimes be a very odd place.
Decades ago, few people could have imagined that public figures, including politicians and movie stars, would be contactable on social media at the touch of a button.
But here we are and let’s just say it’s not always a good thing
In today’s bizarre news, actor Jim Carrey has gotten into a Twitter war with Alessandra Mussolini, an Italian politician who is the granddaughter of fascist dictator Benito Mussolini.
Carrey shared an image he’d drawn of the former dictator and his mistress, Claretta Petacci. The pair were hanging upside down in Piazzale Loreto, Milan, after they were executed in April of 1945.
Unimpressed, Mussolini tweeted at Carey:
You are a b******
Mussolini was elected to European Parliament in 2014, representing the centre-right party Forza Italia. She is a fan of president Donald Trump and repeatedly retweets his Tweets.
Carrey did not respond to the attack, but plenty of others did on his behalf. Everyone was confused and angered by the exchange to say the least.
