People are slamming Mitt Romney's 'spineless' response to Trump's racist tweets

Twitter users have slammed Mitt Romney for his 'spineless' reaction to Donald Trump's 'racist' tweets, after he took a pass on commenting on the president's infamous rant.

On Sunday, Trump tweeted that four Democratic congresswomen of colour should 'go back' to the countries they came from. Three of the four women, including Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Rashida Talib, Ayanna Pressley, and Ilhan Omar, were born in the United States, with only Omar having been born in Somalia and moving to the States as a refugee in the nineties.

When questioned on the tweets by reporter Alison King, at NBC 10 Boston, Romney reportedly said:

I certainly feel a number of these new members of Congress have views that are not consistent with my experience and not consistent with building a strong America.

According to another tweet from King, Romney did then offer a slight rap on the knuckles for Trump. According to King, he reportedly then said:

At the same time, I recognize that the Pres has a unique and noble calling to unite all Americans regardless of our creeds or race or place of our national origin and I think in that case, the Pres fell far short.

Finally, she then asked him if the tweets were racist? In response, he simply gave a 'no comment'. In a question, she said:

Would you go as far as to say racist?

In response, Romney said:

That's all I got.

Many other Twitter users condemned Romney's non-committal response.
