Here’s a collectors item – former adult actor Mia Khalifa is auctioning off the real stars of her brief foray into the porn world: the signature glasses she sported in her scenes.

It’s to raise money for victims of the devastating explosion that ripped through Beirut last week.

Khalifa is Lebanese-American and has posted extensive resources and links to charity drives in support of the country’s capital city since the blast.

The 27-year-old spent only three months as a porn star in 2015, but became one of the most well-known adult actors thanks to wearing a hijab in one of her videos.

She now works as a sports commentator and activist against exploitation in the porn industry.

In a post announcing she would be auctioning off her glasses, Khalifa wrote:

100% of proceeds will benefit @lebaneseredcross and their tireless efforts in Beirut.

I’ve never done an auction or used eBay before, hence the typo in the title from my dog walking across the keyboard, but please spread the word or bid, or donate to LRC. I’m just trying to get creative, there’s always more that can be done and this felt like a cheeky way to raise funds and make sure the conversation and attention doesn’t diverge from this crisis.

Creeps are welcome, your money is just as green as ours!

HAPPY BIDDING, YA FILTHY ANIMALS!

At the time of writing, bidding has reached a staggering $92,300 in just three days.

And reaction was pretty positive for Khalifa’s innovative method of raising much-needed funds for the cash-strapped country.

“God damn queen moves right there,” read one comment.

Lebanese actor Cynthia Khalifeh simply wrote “thank you”, accompanied by a heart emoji.

Khalifa speaks openly about her time in the porn industry, including her attempt to have her 11 videos removed from porn websites.

Despite her videos reportedly making “millions of dollars” for producers, Bang Bros, and sites like PornHub, Khalifa says she was only ever paid $12,000 for her work.

She also has reported experiencing “trauma and emotional distress” as a result of the intense backlash that came from her wearing a hijab in one of the films and wants BangBros to remove the videos, saying she was exploited.

In a tweet last month, she wrote:

I just want B*angbros to stop actively putting me in harm's way by promoting my 6-year-old videos like they're new, making millions of ppl think I'm still active. The death threats are emotionally crippling, I haven't felt safe even going to the grocery store alone in years.

A petition demanding the return of Khalifa’s domain names and her videos removed has reached nearly 2m signatures.
