Meghan and Harry’s baby is set to join the world very soon.

Meghan went into labour and royal fans are already placing bets on the name of the child – even though details around the coming royal baby are scarce and few between.

According to bookmakers, if the baby is a girl, the Prince Harry and the Duchess of Sussex may choose to name her Allegra.

Allegra –an Italian name - is now the third most-likely name, according to Ladbrokes.

In fact, in the past few days, the odds of the baby being called Allegra have gone from 100/1 to 12/1, to 6/1.

Steep odds.

So why is this name so popular with the bookies?

Well, it’s sentimental. According to reports by the Mail Online, the name is a favourite of the late Princess Diana, who wanted to name her own daughter Allegra.

According to 2004 reports, Princess Diana had heard the name and thought it was "beautiful."

However, another popular name in the running is Ivy, and a Ladbrokes spokesperson told Express.co.uk that the odds for Ivy went from 20/1 to 6/4 on Sunday afternoon.

Diana, after Harry’s mum, is also a favourite.

Choices, choices.
