Thursday's GOP debate on CNN produced one of Donald Trump's most embarrassing moments on the campaign trail so far. At least for his level of self-awareness.
Marco Rubio pounced on Trump's repeated use of smear tactics, and the foundation of his campaign as an anti-establishment candidate.
You say the same thing every night: 'Everyone’s dumb, I’m going to make America great again, I’m winning in the polls, lines around the states.' Every night!
At which point Trump lost any command of his faculties he previously held:
I'm not repeating myself. I don't repeat myself. I don't repeat myself. Here's the guy who repeats himself. I don't repeat myself.
He then tried to draw attention to Rubio's oft-repeated campaign lines:
Talking about repeating yourself - I watched him repeat himself five times four weeks ago-
At which Rubio interjected, to applause:
I just watched you repeat yourself five times, five seconds ago!
