Man caught masturbating while watching The Emoji Movie

The Emoji Movie has not had a fantastic opening week.

Predictably, the new animated feature, which is all about those funny little faces on your smart phone has received a real lashing from the critics.

The Emoji Movie currently has a pretty poor 6 per cent rating on Rotten Tomatoes but despite the fact it's got terrible ratings and is unlikely to sell out cinema screens, it didn't deserve this type of indignity.

One man from Howell Township, New Jersey was allegedly caught masturbating during a screening of the film at his local multiplex.

To make matters even worse the screening wasn't empty.

The man was allegedly caught with his hand down his pants on the back row by a mother who was attending the film with her child.

She reportedly alerted the manager but the man, who was also spotted on CCTV, had already left the building by the time police arrived.

NBC New York have since reported that the suspect has been identified as 43-year-old Abraham Parnes, and that he surrendered himself to the authorities on Thursday.

He has been charged with lewdness and released on a summons.
