Man in niqab claims he was only cheating on his wife, is not a suicide bomber

A Turkish man arrested as a suspected would-be suicide bomber said he was wearing a niqab to disguise himself to meet a secret lover from a dating site.

Locals in the Black Sea province of Ordu alerted police on Saturday after noticing he was wearing men's shoes with his niqab, the Dogan news agency said.

Police arrived at the scene, unmasked the man and detained him for "inflicting fear and panic in the public", Dogan reported.

The 33-year-old man, who is married with two children, told police that he had resorted to the disguise in order to meet in secret a woman he had met on an online dating site.
