Right-wing conspiracy theorist and writer Laura Loomer has been regularly tweeting in the wake of the New York attack.

Eight people died and 12 were badly injured after a 29-year-old man drove down a bicycle path in Manhattan on Tuesday.

In stark contrast to the resilience and love emanating from most New Yorkers, Loomer is once again causing controversy - this time, by tweeting about her attempt to "find a non Muslim cab".

People had some thoughts...

Uber only displays drivers' names, photos and licence plates - not their religion.

According to reports, Uber and Lyft have since banned her from their respective apps.

Business Insider say that Loomer violated Uber's community guidelines and that Lyft had deactivated her account.
