Livingstone was suspended from the Labour party back in 2016 after he made comments about Adolf Hitler supporting Zionism – though he insisted he was not guilty of antisemitism. The former mayor later resigned in 2019 after the accusations had become a distraction.
He told GB News, “I didn’t quote Hitler” after Farage said, “For a man of your experience and wisdom, quoting Hitler in anything isn’t very helpful is it?”
Farage added that there were “some pretty heavy charges of anti-Semitism” at the end of Livingstone’s career in politics.
