Footage from a violent brawl between members of the public and staff at a kebab shop in Portsmouth has gone viral, thanks to an onlooker's calm response to what he was seeing.
The 57-second clip which was shared on Twitter in the early hours of Saturday morning. The video sees a mass brawl break out between a group of men in Ken's Kebabs on Albert Road, Portsmouth.
As the fight escalated people's attention was drawn to one man who was sitting alone in the fast-food outlet, calmly eating his food and looking at his phone, not bothered by the chaos that was erupting around him.
The man instantly became a meme, with many people associating with his relaxed demeanour in the face of great adversity, much like 2020 has been so far.
Thanks to an interview with the Daily Mail, it has been revealed that the man in the video is 52-year-old Chris Hill who admitted that he didn't want to move because he was enjoying his food too much.
I thought about moving at one point but I was enjoying my kebab and chips... although the chips weren't very nice.
Hill isn't the only man to emerge from this video as a meme hero. Another man walks into the frame at the end of the clip, doing the absolute bare minimum to dissipate the situation.
Heroes – every one of them. Except those fighting. We cannot condone that sort of behaviour.
