Last month, students across the United States protested against gun violence on the National Walkout Day.

The walkout lasted 17 minutes to remember the 17 victims of the Parkland shooting in Florida on 14 February.

However, one particular walkout garnered more attention as it featured just one lone student; 16-year-old Justin Blackman of North Carolina.

Despite clearly being disheartened by the lack of solidarity from his peers, Justin's commitment to the cause saw his video go viral and has been viewed more than 6 million times, at the time of writing.

Yet, Justin obviously wasn't deterred from making another stance and, on Friday, once again walked out of class for 15 minutes to remember the 15 people who lost their lives at the Columbine High School massacre on April 20, 1999.

However, this time, Justin was not alone, as hundreds of his fellow classmates from Wilson Preparatory Academy joined him for the moment.

Justin's remarkable efforts to raise awareness about gun control and gun violence in the United States (seriously check out his Twitter page) is to be applauded.

Fellow activists including Parkland survivor Lexi Tracton and March for Our Lives organiser Matt Deitsch, as well as many others, got in touch to compliment Justin for his hard work and getting his fellow students involved in the movement.

Since his initial video went viral Justin has met with the governor of North Carolina, Roy Cooper and will be attending a meeting at the University of North Carolina on Sunday.
