Republicans have been whipped into a frenzy about a ‘superspreader’ event which never actually happened.

To celebrate Joe Biden’s 78th birthday, Atlanta mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms posted a video of a crowd singing to the president-elect.

In the clip, nobody is wearing a mask and the room is crowded.

That’s because it was filmed last year before coronavirus was a thing.

Lance Bottoms clarified that it was “pre-Covid’ in a follow-up tweet.

But Republicans on Twitter chose to ignore this crucial fact and instead share it as supposed proof of Biden’s hypocrisy.

Tony Shaffer, who is on a Trump advisory board, wrote: “Super-spreader event… hey, @cnn and @Acosta - are you going to investigate how many people @JoeBiden killed by encouraging this dangerous and reckless behaviour?”

Other Trump supporters also expressed their outrage at the debunked video.

Yes, this would have been an epic takedown of Biden… if it had actually happened.

In reality, the president-elect spent the day meeting with Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer in his Delaware hometown.
