Jeremy Corbyn is on the ropes.
Having resoundingly lost a vote of no confidence among his MPs, he was told at Prime Minister's Questions to resign, by David Cameron.
The soon-to-be-former prime minister said Corbyn's inability to provide an effective opposition meant his leadership was no longer in the national interest:
It might be in my party's interest for him to sit there, it's not in the national interest and I would say, for heaven's sake man, go.
His leadership crisis has been compounded by mass resignations from the shadow cabinet, including one from Pat Glass MP, who had only taken up the position of shadow education secretary two days prior.
In addition, he has been wary of media appearances after a gaffe in which the shadow cabinet was reshuffled while cameras left the room.
So what he needed was a really slick media briefing as the trade unions discussed whether he should be leader anymore:
Oh.
And the obvious jokes have been made about his command of a situation:
How coherent he looks:
How well he takes questions about the leadership:
How pugnacious he looks:
What a time to be on course to win a general election.
