As the Trump administration comes to its final and dramatic conclusion numerous stories about its demise have caught the headlines but none are quite as strange as the one involving Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner’s toilet.

According to the Washington Post, the bathrooms, six in total that currently belongs to Trump and Kushner in their Washington DC house are so off-limits that not even the Secret Service detail assigned to protect them are allowed to use them.

The report claims that Secret Service men and women taking care of the president’s daughter and his son-in-law have often been so desperate to relieve themselves that they have had to resort using portaloos. It also mentions that they had to ask if they could use the toilets the homes of vice-president Mike Pence and even Barack Obama.

Given that this is all happening during the Covid-19 pandemic its probably not a great idea to make people constantly go in and out of other people’s properties when there is no good reason. As you can imagine, people were stunned.

To make matters worse the report also states that since September 2017, Trump and Kushner were so keen to keep the secret service out of their six bathrooms that the federal government had to rent the squad a basement studio just so they could go to the toilet. This is reportedly costing US taxpayers around $3000-a-month.

A White House spokesperson has since disputed the claims saying, “That account is disputed by a law enforcement official familiar with the situation, who said the agents were kept out at the family’s request.”
