On the eve of the Women’s World Cup, Mithali Raj, the Indian women’s cricket captain, had to deal with an entirely different kind of battle.

Raj, a cricketer who regularly smashes world records in the sport and is considered one of cricket's premier players, was attending a dinner and media event.

It was during this event a reporter asked her a question about her favourite 'male player'.

Raj replied:

Do you ask the same question to a male cricketer? Do you ask them who their favourite female cricketer is?

I have always been asked who's your favourite cricketer but you should ask them who their favourite female cricketer is.

People loved it:

It seems her actions off the pitch are getting just as much attention - Pictures of Raj calmly reading a book, seemingly without a care in the world, ahead of batting against England today were shared in abundance on Twitter.

Queen of cool indeed.
