The Illusion of the Year finalists will completely baffle you

Yes it’s only a matter of weeks before Christmas, and Halloween is just around the corner – but there’s something to celebrate right now.

The Illusion of the year competition, run by the Neural Correlate Society, which describes itself as “a celebration of the ingenuity and creativity of the world’s premier illusion research community” closed yesterday after a tense vote that was open to the public.

Judges picked their top ten favourites for people to vote on, and they’re all mind-blowing.
