Have you ever watched one of your favourite television shows and thought, wow, I wish my sitting room looked exactly like theirs?
No, us neither. However, if you have, then this new Ikea initiative is exactly the right thing for you.
The Swedish company has launched its 'Real Life' series, as part of its new United Arab Emirates campaign, which replicates three famous living rooms: The Simpsons, Monica's apartment from Friends, and the Christmas-light festooned sitting room of Winona Ryder in Stranger Things.
Ikea is literally offering all of the furnishings that are needed to recreate any of these looks, however, hasn't licenced the tributes, so instead of mentioning The Simpsons, that room is simply called 'Rooms for Families'.
The word 'Friends' is also missing from the 'Room For Mates', but there is no questioning the inspiration for the rooms. Likewise, the furnishings aren't exact replicas, however, the items have been chosen to appear pretty similar.

According to the company, the campaign took months to perfect, as it required searching through all of its products to find pieces that fit.
Vinod Jayan, managing director for Ikea in the UAE, Qatar, Egypt and Oman, told Ad Week:
The Ikea team worked closely with the creatives for months. They went through hundreds of items to find the perfect pieces that would bring those iconic rooms.
It was a great collaborative effort that led up to a stunning result.
Well, we started out as sceptics, but now we might just be changing our minds...
If you're tempted by having your very own Friends apartment, you can buy the pieces here on the Ikea website.
