In case you needed any more proof that humans are behind climate change, new research has found that there is a 99.999 per cent certainty that the rise in global warming is down to us.
According to the study, published in the journal Climate Risk Management today, it is now "beyond reasonable doubt" that the warming of our planet is down to human activity.
In an article for The Conversation the study's authors Philip Kokica, Steven Crimpc and Mark Howdend write that their research could help kill off some common myths about there being no link between human activity and global warming.
Ignoring the problem is no longer an option. If we are thinking about action to respond to climate change or doing nothing, with a probability exceeding 99.999 per cent that the warming we are seeing is human-induced, we certainly shouldn’t be taking the chance of doing nothing.
