Fox News has been named the most trusted network in the US.
While host Bill O'Reilly says any attacks on the news channel are just part of a "liberal media conspiracy", we'll just let you decide how trustworthy the network is yourself.
Here are some of the ridiculous things the channel has done... recently.
1. Saying of sexual violence in the military: 'What did they expect.'
Fox News pundit Liz Trotta complained feminists wanted to be "warriors and victims at the same time". Her explanation of sexual assault in the military? "These people are in close contact... I thought the mission of the army was to defend and protect us not the people who are fighting the war."
2. Blaming hoodies for the death of Trayvon Martin
"I am urging the parents of black and Latino youngsters particularly not to let their children go out wearing hoodies. I think the hoodie is as much responsible for Trayvon Martin‘s death as much as George Zimmerman was," he said.
3. Playing Dude Looks Like a Lady while promoting a segment about Chelsea Manning
This actually happened.
4. Deciding a swim class was evidence that "Sharia Law is changing everything"
This was prompted by a YMCA in Minneapolis starting a swim group for Muslim girls in 2013.
5. Deciding Santa Claus and Jesus were (unequivocally) white
"Just because it makes you feel uncomfortable doesn't mean it has to change. Jesus was a white man too. He was a historical figure, that's a verifiable fact," host Megyn Kelly said.
6. Telling a black man he looked like a cocaine dealer
Marc Lamont Hill (PhD) took the remark from Bill O’Reilly, made in 2010, in good humour. "As do you - you look like a cocaine user, we’re even," he said.
7. Refusing to admit white privilege exists
O'Reilly (again) was confronted with the reality of racism and managed to ignore it anyway. Months later he admitted it may be a "factor" during an appearance on the Daily Show.
8. Worrying about how protests over the death of Eric Garner might affect Christmas
Following a grand jury’s decision not to indict the police officer who killed unarmed black man Eric Garner with an outlawed choke-hold, Fox News anchor Gretchen Carlson was concerned ... that the resulting protests may disrupt the Christmas tree lighting ceremony in Manhattan.
9. Looking for insurgents happy about the Democrats winning Congress
In 2006 when the Democrats won congress, the Huffington Post got its hands on a leaked memo from Fox News vice president of News John Moody recommending the channel look for "an statements from the Iraqi insurgents, who must be thrilled at the prospect of a Dem controlled Congress".
10. Deciding Duck Dynasty's Phil Robertson was an expert on the Middle East
Fox News’s Sean Hannity turned to an expert on the Middle East he could trust. In an eye-opening interview, the duck hunter, patriarch and Christian quoted the Bible he never leaves home without when asked by Hannity how America should combat Isis.
11. Telling women interested in politics to 'get back to Tinder'
Pundit Kimberly Guilfoyle suggested in October 2014 that young women shouldn’t concern themselves with voting and would be better off spending their time on dating apps like Tinder and Match.com. But what if they need to discuss politics with their dates?
12. Being unable to cope with the CIA torture report
As Fox News host Andrea Tantaros put it: "Sunlight at the CIA? I’m sorry, that’s one place I don’t need sunlight. I don’t think they need to give me a lot of transparency at the CIA." Yes, because transparency is the last thing democracy needs.
13. Suggesting Obama was going to limit the first amendment to introduce Sharia law
This really happened.
14. Linking Islam to the Mafia
Bill O’Reilly made the connection while discussing a heated row between Ben Affleck and Bill Maher about Islamophobia.
15. Declaring that guns mean America is less vulnerable to terrorist attacks
That's according to Fox reporter Emily Miller, who said on Sunday: "It's factually incorrect to say civilian ownership of guns is going to lead to more deaths, in fact it probably would have stopped that crime or at least slowed down the number of journalists that were slaughtered in Paris."
16. Doing everything in their power to make us answer yes to this question
17. Describing Birmingham as a 'Muslim-only' city
Birmingham as "totally Muslim"commented
18. Saying 'crack babies' come from women 'smoking this whole marijuana business'
Dr David Samadi claimed
19. Airing footage of Muath al-Kasaesbeh's murder
The channel decided it would be a good idea to broadcast uncut footage of Jordanian pilot being burned to death by Isis militants on prime time television. Responding to the video, Malcolm Nance, the executive director of the Terror Asymmetrics Project on Strategy, Tactics and Radical Ideology said Fox were spreading propaganda. “[Fox News] are literally – literally – working for al-Qaeda and Isis’s media arm,” he told the Guardian.
20. Getting itself into a lather over a deadly sniper
During a fawning interview, Fox News presenter Elisabeth Hasselbeck could not hide her admiration for a US army sniper who killed 33 people in four months in Afghanistan. Welcoming former sergeant Nick Irving on to Fox and Friends, she said: “You know, I’m looking at your résumé here… it’s good to have you on our side, I’ll say,” before going on to refer to him as "Reaper" (his nickname in the army) and calling him a gentleman.
