Helen Mirren is 'flattered' people think she's Keanu Reeves' new girlfriend

Dame Helen Mirren is “flattered” that people have confused her with Keanu Reeves’ girlfriend, after the John Wick star stepped out on the red carpet with her earlier this week – much to the delight of his fans.

Reeves held hands with artist Alexandra Grant, appearing to confirm that he is in a relationship, causing people to celebrate that he shirked Hollywood trends by dating someone his age, whilst others were simply happy to see the actor, who spawned the “lonely Keanu” meme happy with someone.

With her hair worn in its natural grey and a great big smile, people pointed out that Grant looks remarkably similar to actor Helen Mirren.

Mirren was delighted by the comparison.

“I saw that,” Mirren told Entertainment Tonight.

That was very flattering on me, you know, because she’s obviously lovely.

Mirren added: “I do know Keanu very well. He did a film with my husband [Taylor Hackford] and he is just the most adorable, lovely person. So she’s a lucky girl and I’m sure that he’s a lucky boy.
