Halloween is one of the few times of year you can dress any way you want.
Some may argue that you should go as something scary, and for some people there is nothing more scary than commitment.
With that in mind meet Haleigh Connor, a student at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities.
A few weeks ago she decided that her Halloween costume wasn't going to be Wonder Woman or Harley Quinn, or anything like that.
No, she was literally going to go as the word "commitment."
Having the word on a plain white t-shirt wasn't the only element of this ingenious outfit. No.
Haleigh tagged her exes when she uploaded the image to Instagram just as a quick reminder of what they were missing out on.
The post went viral on Instagram but it really blew up when she shared it on Twitter with a super sassy message.
As it the nature of Twitter there were some lovers....
But there were a lot of haters who disliked this otherwise amusing joke and branded it petty, with many highlighting how many boyfriends she had gotten through.
Some people were out to defend Haleigh which she appreciated.
Speaking to BuzzFeedshe said:
I had boyfriends in middle school, but that usually consists of only seeing each other at school and having your parents drive you around to places.
It was never anything serious of course.
There is an interesting twist though, as Haleigh has revealed that some of her exes that saw the post have got in contact with her, to tell her how much they enjoyed the outfit.
She added:
I've only been in one very serious relationship.
It’s not worth it for me to look at all the comments and such, these people don’t know me or know the joke so I’m not too bothered by it.
