Popular hockey mascot Gritty was seen counter protesting a far-right 'We the People' rally on Saturday in Philadelphia.

The grinning, orange-haired, crazy-eyed monster was unveiled as a mascot for the Philadelphia Flyers in September and quickly became a viral sensation. And its smiling, slightly unnerving face was seen popping up all around the protest.

Photos of the rally flooded social media, most of them were emblazoned with Gritty's likeness to protest the far-right rally, along with signs and homemade outerwear featuring the mascot.

Gritty's presence at the protest wasn't an official showing by the Flyers, but his presence was a wonderful addition.
