Fox News apologises to Greta Thunberg after host called her 'mentally ill child'

Fox News has apologised to Greta Thunberg after a guest referred to her as a 'mentally ill Swedish child.' In a segment called The Story, a heated debate broke out between the left and right wing pundits, who were discussing Thunberg's empowering, emotional speech she gave at the UN earlier that day.

Host of The Daily Wire, conservative writer Michael Knowles said:

"The climate hysteria movement is not about science. If it were about science, it would be led by scientists, rather than by politicians and a mentally ill Swedish child who is being exploited by her parents and by the international left."

At which point his opposition in the debate, Chris Hahn (host of The Aggressive Progressive podcast) lost his temper and demanded he apologise to Greta, claiming Knowles was completely out of order referring to a child as mentally ill.

Thus ensued a heated debate between the two, as the host looked on unsure of how to resolve the argument. Knowles went on to slate Thunberg's mental health, saying:

"She is mentally ill. She has autism. She has obsessive compulsive disorder, she has selective mutism. She had depression."

Thunberg has addressed her issues head on and openly talks about living with Aspergers, recently tweeting about her condition.

People were quick to condemn Knowles, and after his comments, Fox News announced they had no plans to feature him again in the future
