Today in nope, historians have found eight fully-formed human teeth inside the mouth of a 300-year-old statue of Jesus.
The unsual discovery was made when researchers took an X-ray of the Lord of Patience statue in San Bartolo, Mexico, as part of restoration work. It is believed the teeth were willingly donated by a worshipper and then inserted into the statue.
Fanny Unikel, of Mexico's National Institute of Anthropology and History, said that it was common for eighteenth century statues to have teeth but they are typically made of wood.
"In this case, he has eight adult teeth. You can even see the roots", she said.
