Not all proposals have happy endings.
A flight attendant was fired after her boyfriend proposed to her during a flight.
Reports suggest that about 30 minutes after takeoff, the woman’s boyfriend got down on one knee, at the front of the aircraft, and asked that fateful question.
The flight attendant says yes, and the pair hug to roaring applause.
She told Asia One:
I really didn’t know my boyfriend will be proposing to me on this flight, thanks for being my witnesses.
Naturally, the video went viral, sweeping across social media websites.
The moment, which was supposed to stay with her, warm and fuzzy forever, was tarnished after Chinese Eastern Airlines fired her, according to a report from Singapore’s Channel 8.
She was sent a dismissal letter terminating her employment and the company blamed her for neglecting passenger safety.
They said:
[The] private romantic behaviour caused turmoil among passengers [and was] extremely irresponsible for the safety of passengers.
The incident split opinion online, with some siding with the airline. One Twitter user called the decision ‘inhuman’, but another said the loved up pair should have conducted their affairs in private.
Chinese Eastern Airlines did not immediately return a request for comment.
