Tory MP Esther McVey mocked over foreign aid comments in bizarre LBC interview

Esther McVey was caught out when she awkwardly admitted she had no idea where foreign aid is being misspent.

On a live interview with LBC today, the Tory leadership hopeful revealed how much of taxpayer's money is being wasted in regards to international development projects. But when asked by Iain Dale if she could give an example of where this has happened, the Tory MP could only reply:

Ermm...it's in...one of the continents...abroad

While the moment was incredibly awkward, and people were quick to mock her on social media, one journalist noted that what she said wasn't completely wrong.

The former work and pensions secretary is now running for prime minister, but received a lot of backlash last month when she said parents should be free to stop their children learning about LGBT+ relationships at school. She's also managed to get herself in a feud with Lorraine Kelly after the Scottish TV host appeared to snub the MP over a question about working together 20 years ago.
