The good people of the internet have been very busy coming up with a complete list of people who can replace Ellen DeGeneres if she were to no longer host her own show.
For weeks, DeGeneres's show has been the subject of criticism after allegations of a "toxic" workplace were reported by BuzzFeed News.
DeGeneres addressed the issues in a letter to her crew last week, hours before the publication of another investigation from BuzzFeed alleging multiple instances of sexual harassment by powerful producers.
Later, Page Six and The Sunreported that British host James Corden is one of the names in line to potentially replace the comedian, and this did not go down well with fans who feel they know best.
Whether or not the replacement reports turn out to be just rumours, Twitter has been buzzing with suggestions for The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
Here are some of the people whp are being floated:
Someone suggested the currently incarcerated Tiger King star Joe Exotic:
How about the recently disgraced Nick Cannon?:
Or the other Ellen? Actor Ellen Page.
Forget actors and TV stars. What about a rapper who has radio experience?
Who remembers when Dakota Johnson absolutely shaded Ellen on her own show? Perfect solution, no?
Online fans want viral meme queens Tabitha Brown and Tiffany Pollard to make the cut:
Things could get a bit awkward if she was replaced by her wife Portia de Rossi:
Meanwhile, some people just want the conversation to end, like, yesterday.
DeGeneres issued an apology last week following reports of a toxic workplace environment on the set of her show.
Later, Warner Bros said it would make staffing changes after an internal investigation found “deficiencies related to the show’s day-to-day management”.
DeGeneres is one of the biggest names on US TV and has hosted The Ellen DeGeneres Show since 2003, so replacing her would be a very big deal.
BuzzFeed spoke to former employees who made allegations of racism, unfair dismissal, intimidation, and an overall toxic environment, perpetuated by the show’s senior producers.
