In tonight's Question Time election special, Labour leader Ed Miliband explicitly ruled out any coalition or deal of any kind with the Scottish National Party.
He also faced tough questioning on Labour's record on immigration, public spending and its role in the financial crisis.
It was all going so well, but then with the at-times hostile audience's polite applause ringing in his ears, he fell over, a bit, almost, kind of.
