Tucker Carlson condemned after his ‘vile’ comments about Dr Jill Biden

Tucker Carlson has sparked outrage after he compared Jill Biden using the title of 'doctor' in her name to Dr. Pepper and Bill Cosby.

The biggest controversy in the American conservative media is whether first-lady elect Jill Biden should use the title 'Dr' which she has every right to. Biden got her title, as a doctor of education from the University of Delaware in 2007.

However, the likes of Joseph Epstein, who started the controversy with an editorial in the Wall Street Journal, and Ben Shapiro think that she shouldn't be using the title at all because she is not a trained physician nor has she studied 'hard sciences.'

Lending his voice to this completely unnecessary uproar is Fox News' Tucker Carlson. Speaking on his show on Monday Carlson claimed that Biden's Phd 'means basically nothing' adding "Jill Biden is not a doctor, no. Maybe in the same sense, Dr Pepper is."

Carlson then went on to compare the incoming first lady to the convicted sex offender Bill Cosby, who is also a Doctor of Education, earning the title from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 1976. Carlson said, "'In 2007, at the age of 55, she got a doctorate in education, so she's got the same degree as Dr Bill Cosby.'

Laughing to himself, Carlson continued to criticise Biden and accused her of having 'status anxiety' adding that she "decided to cure that, as so many do in our country, with another pointless title."

Carlson used to the rest of the segment to accused the Biden's of having 'deep class insecurity' before he moved on to an interview with Fox contributor Lisa Boothe, however, his comments about Biden have sparked further disgust and condemnation.

Biden did offer her response to the criticism on Sunday but it would appear that the US media are willing to run with this for just a little longer.
