Donald Trump has suggested he is putting his trust in President Putin keeping his word, and that he is being honest.
In their second public face-to-face meeting the two Presidents attended the APEC summit in Vietnam on Saturday.
Speaking to the on-going investigation into possible Russian 'meddling' in the 2016 Presidential Election, President Trump said:
Every time he [Putin] sees me he says I didn’t do that, and I really believe that when he tells me that, he means it...I think he is very insulted by it, which is not a good thing for our country,
The president made the remark to reporters travelling with him aboard Air Force One.
By contrast Donald Trump has accused almost everything and everyone else, of being liars.
Those he has called a liar, or accused of telling lies via his Twitter, include...
James Clapper:
Retired US Air Force Lieutentant General, and former Director of National Intelligence.
ESPN:
A sports channel.
Senator Ted Cruz:
His former opponent for the Republican nomination.
The Media:
All of it.
