Donald Trump had his first British interview following the US election, with Michael Gove for The Times.
The former Secretary of State for Justice quizzed Trump on a number of topics, including the future of British-American relations following Brexit.
He emphasised the importance of a trade deal with the UK, and said that he is a “fan of the UK”, and plans to meet with Theresa May as soon as he is inaugurated into the White House.
The President-elect also spoke at length about his “pessimism” with the EU and Angela Merkel’s “catastrophic mistake” in allowing Syrian refugees into the country.
Nato – which he had once referred to as “obsolete" - also came up during the interview, and he reiterated the need to reform in order to meet what he deems the main threat of “Islamist terrorism”.
The discussion eventually turned to the Iran Nuclear Deal – brokered by President Obama – which he had vehemently opposed.
And, in the midst of his answer, the world received this golden nugget of truth, straight from Trump’s mouth:
Well, I don’t want to say what I’m gonna do with the Iran deal. I just don’t want to play the cards. I mean, look, I’m not a politician, I don’t go out and say “I’m gonna do this”.
I’m not a politician.
Not.
A.
Politician.
Well, okay, lest we are accused of reporting in an untoward or otherwise inaccurate manner, here is a screengrab of the interview:

And in case there is any doubt about the definition of 'politician' (one can never be too sure), here's what Oxford Dictionary had to say about it:
A person who is professionally involved in politics, especially as a holder of an elected office.
Professionally involved in politics...like, an election you mean?

Trump's meandering answer further proved he is not what we consider a traditional politician.
I'm gonna do. I gotta do what I gotta do...But I'm not happy with the Iran deal, I think it's one of the worst deals ever made, I'm think it's one of the dumbest deals I've ever seen...Where you give ...$150 billion back to a country, where you give 1.7 billion in cash. Did you ever seen $100 million in hundred dollar bills? It's a lot. 1.7 billion in cash. Plane loads. Many planes. Boom. 1.7 billion. I don't understand. I think that money is in Swiss bank accounts.
Donald Trump will be inaugurated in four days as the leader of one of the most powerful countries in the world.
He's 'gonna do' what he 'gotta do'.
