Another day, another disorienting, confused day in the world of Donald J. Trump.

The President of the United States held an impromptu media briefing himself - a duty usually the responsibility of Sean Spicer, his Press Secretary and Communications Director.

But before this, Trump had a bit of a confusing rant on Twitter:

During the conference it became clear Trump is still going on about how many people voted him into office, despite the fact he lost the popular vote.

He said:

I’m here following through on what I pledged to do. That’s all I’m doing.

I put it out before the American people I got 306 electoral college votes, because people come out and voted like they’d never seen before. So that’s the way it goes.

I guess it’s the biggest college win since Ronald Reagan.

And then an absolute hero stepped in to call Trump out. NBC reporter Peter Alexander said:

Very simply, you said today that you had the biggest electoral margin since Ronald Reagan, with 304, 306 electoral votes. The fact that president Obama got 365 –

Trump interrupted with:

Well I’m talking about Republican

Then Alexander said:

And then president Obama 332, and George H W Bush, 426, when he won as president. So why should Americans trust you?

Trump added this even weirder explanation:

Well no, I was given that information. I don’t know, I was just given that. We had a very, very big margin.

Alexander asked:

Why should Americans trust you when you accuse the information they receive as being fake, when you’re providing information that is fake?

Trump reiterated that he was “given that information” and that he’s “seen that information around”. He added:

But it was a very substantial victory, don’t you agree with that?

Here's the clip:

People are calling on the media to call Trump out all the time:

And if that fails:
