Donald Trump and German Chancellor Angela Merkel held a joint press conference yesterday.
Relationships between the US and EU aren’t at their tightest right now, and as you might have expected, things were a tad frosty between Trump and Merkel.
The toughest test for Trump though came from the German press. The travelling reporters have been receiving a lot of praise from the American media.
Its was Deutsche Presse-Agentur reporter Kristina Dunz who was the real star though, who asked what we’re all thinking:
Why are you so scared of diversity in the news and in the media, that you speak so often of fake news?
She also drew praise for directly questioning him about the fact he has so far been unable to back up his claims that he was wiretapped by Barack Obama.
And how did Trump then refer to her?
Nice, friendly reporter.
He also managed to refer to the US as a “very powerful company” in his answer, before quickly correcting himself.
