#DearMe campaign encourages women to give advice to teenage selves

What advice would you give to your teenage self? That's the question posed by a new campaign from YouTube to mark International Women's Day, which falls on Sunday.

The company wants users to upload a video letter to their younger selves, using the hashtag #DearMe.

As you may have guessed from the association with International Women's Day, the advice is mostly focused on helping teenage girls deal with their problems, with YouTube saying in a blogpost: "For many girls, the path to finding themselves was littered with doubt, uncertainty and pressure from all sides."

YouTube being YouTube, they have made a video to explain the campaign which features celebrities including Felicia Day and Hannah Hart.

Day's message was "failure is not the end of the world, even if it feels like it", while Hart said "I know you're staying up late at night worrying about getting a date or falling in love and the man you're going to marry. Well guess what, you're gay".
