Ukip members have previously mistaken the first world problems meme for a legitimate image on their official website and "Bongo Bongo land" for a place. Now, their South Thanet branch have accidentally called one of Britain's most famous cathedrals a mosque.
After the BBC’s Daily Politics show posted a photo on their Twitter feed showing a straw poll being held, the party’s South Thanet branch decided to tweet their disapproval at the broadcaster choosing to hold a vote in front of a mosque.
In a now deleted tweet, they replied:
Except that the mosque in question was, in fact, Westminster Cathedral. Oops.
As you can see here, it’s an easy mistake to make:
Of course the masses are taking to Twitter to mock the mistake, then search #ThingsThatAreNotMosques for inspiration.
