A Fox News host has apologised for playing Johnny Cash’s ‘Ring of Fire’ immediately after a report on wildfires.
The incident took place during ‘Special Report with Bret Baier' on Friday night.
Fox News broadcast a report about the ongoing wildfires in Colorado.
The report showed fires burning in Grand County and emergency vehicles trying to contain it.
Currently, there are two separate wildfires – both the largest in the state’s history – burning concurrently.
Together, they have spread over more than 400,000 acres and are only partially contained. At least 30 people have died..
Baier can be heard announcing that five people were missing.

Then, as the segment came to a close, Johnny Cash's 'Ring of Fire' began to play.
The lyrics go: “I fell into a burning ring of fire, I went down, down, down and the flames went higher.”
People were furious about it.
I was waiting for it. Then I heard it. Then I gasped. Then I cringed. https://t.co/TNMS1SJJTJ— Eric Lloyd (@Eric Lloyd) 1603653857

How tone deaf can @FoxNews be to play Ring of Fire right after taking about deaths caused by fires in Colorado? https://t.co/pSdZNAZqRi— Christina (@Christina) 1603686698
Baier issued a statement to Mediate on Friday.
He said: “The song chosen for the bump music was a terrible mistake and a complete oversight.
We regret the insensitive error and hope and pray the missing are found unharmed and the fires there are contained.”
We suspect they won’t be making that mistake again any time soon...
