CNN reporter apologises after old 'homophobic' tweets emerge

Another day, another set of old problematic tweets from someone who should know better.

A CNN reporter as apologised after several of her old “homophobic” tweets surfaced online.

Tweets from Kaitlan Collins called another person a "fag" and also suggested that she was uncomfortable rooming with a lesbian while attending the University of Alabama.

In two 2011 tweets, she wrote:

"Prologue to Canterbury Tales, you fag" and "Idk if I wanna room with a lesbian".

On Sunday, Collins issued an apology, saying:

When I was in college, I used ignorant language in a few tweets to my friends.

It was immature but it doesn’t represent the way I feel at all. I regret it and apologise.
