Bernard Verlhac, one of the Charlie Hebdo cartoonists murdered in the terror attack in Paris last Wednesday, was buried at a funeral service today.

Friends, family and fans of the man known as "Tignous" paid homage to the illustrator by decorating his coffin with cartoons.

Crowds lined the streets in the Parisian suburb of Montreuil and broke into applause as his coffin was carried out of the town hall towards before his burial at the Pere Lachaise cemetery, the final resting place of many famous authors and playwrights including Oscar Wilde.
