A sketch from Chadwick Boseman’s stint as a guest host on SNL has gone viral over the weekend.
Boseman hosted Saturday Night Live in 2019 – in one of the sketches, he played his character from Black Panther, King T’Challa, on Jeopardy, the TV game show.
The segment is called "Black Jeopardy" and is a long-running skit on Saturday Night Live, often featuring various guest stars.
Chadwick Boseman's SNL sketch about Karen and her potato salad was freaking legendary. Dammit. https://t.co/HAyBiaivMU— Isaac (@Isaac) 1598668088
In the skit, Boseman is faced with the following scenario: "Your friend Karen brings her potato salad to your cookout."
In full character, Boseman responds:
This woman Karen, she is caucasian? And she has her own recipe for potato salad... I understand. It is noble that she would volunteer to cook for everyone.
Although I have never had her potato salad, I sense that this white woman does not season her food. And if she does, it is only with a tiny pinch of salt, and no paprika.
And she will probably add something unnecessary... like raisins.
A "Karen" has become a term for a white woman who often acts in an unnecessary and aggressive way with people who aren’t white.
It’s a particular kind of stereotype, and has gained traction as a term in the last couple of years.
People reacted on social media to the skit.
