Are you comfortable? Settle in because you’re about to go on an emotional ride.

Have tissues at the ready.

A Texan woman who thought her cat had died after it went missing for five years, discovered that he’s been alive all this time – and living with her neighbours.

This is Panther.

Panther went missing from Nguhi's home in Dallas, and assuming he had died, she was bereft.

As it turned out, he wasn't dead.

The unbelievable story was shared on Twitter by Nguhi.

She pieced together Panther's last five years: After he went missing, he turned up in a shelter and was in danger of being euthanised.

A woman adopted him and renamed him Charlie.

He was given to her parents, Nguhi's neighbours - who in turn had a husky they could no longer care for.

Nguhi - who had no idea that Panther lived with her neighbours - kept the Siberian husky, Trotsky.

Charlie - or rather 'Panther' - did what he does best and went missing again, prompting the neighbours to seek Nguhi's help:

That's when the realised who Charlie is.

They've decided Charlie will stay with the neighbours, but Nguhi can visit any time she wants:

The heart-warming story was shared thousands of times of Twitter, with lots of people ugly crying rejoicing at the reunion story.

Disney, you got the hook up?

Speaking to indy100, Nguhi said:

I was devastated to lose panther in the first place. He’d been my companion for close to ten years and suddenly he was nowhere to be found.

I couldn’t be happier knowing he found us again! I couldn’t stop crying it was as if he’d come back from the dead! Knowing he’s safe, healthy, and happy was the best discovery. I love him so much and I can’t believe he found his way back to us.

I'm not crying, you're crying.
