'Brexit Party supporters' filmed shouting 'go home' and swearing at British-Asian MEP

A video has emerged of a newly re-elected Labour MEP of British-Asian Sikh heritage being heckled by people telling her to "go home" during her acceptance speech in the West Midlands.

West Midlands Labour posted a video to Twitter showing people who they alleged to be supporters of the Brexit Party yelling at the stage where Neena Gill was making her speech. Tweeting the video, Labour called the incident "an ugly truth".

Winning 35 per cent of the vote, Gill was re-elected with 25,000 more votes than the Brexit Party candidate.

But during her speech, some audience members, many of whom appeared to be waving Brexit Party placards, can be heard saying “how dare you” and “go home” over the top of her statement.

The BBC reports that, during her speech, Gill accused the Brexit Party of being “far-right” and “fascist”.

One Brexit party supporter then shouted “f*** off” multiple times during her speech.

Others can be heard in the video saying “Off, off, off” to drown out her speech.
