If you hadn't noticed, the Conservative party has been at war over Europe for quite some time.
It's an old cliche that every Tory prime minister ends up having their career ended by internal disputes over Europe, but given we're on our third Tory PM in as many years, this political proverb feels particularly relevant now.
Following the expulsion of 21 Tory MPs for rebelling over Brexit, plus the defection of several others including Dr Phillip Lee and Heidi Allen, Channel 4 has released a documentary focussing on the warring party.
Though, despite the many political insights in the episode, we couldn't help but be surprised at the amount of expletives used by these supposedly upstanding Tory MPs.
The film shows many MPs, including Nicholas Soames - the grandson of Sir Winston Churchill who was expelled last month for refusing to support a no-deal Brexit - effing and blinding.
Former Tory Anna Soubry gets in her fair share of four-star words too. On the idea that she'd join a "mutiny", she says:
You bet your f****** life I will.
Rutland and Melton MP Sir Alan Duncan also talks disparagingly - and explicitly - about his colleagues, saying:
It's another day where all cameras are on the ERG, who the f*** do they think they are?
He can also be seen calling Home Secretary Priti Patel a "disgrace" and Jacob Rees-Mogg "deceitful".
Nicki Morgan is another exasperated voice in the documentary, saying how she was on the verge of leaving the Conservative party, but decided to stay.
Whichever side of the political spectrum you're on, we suppose it's a small comfort to know that politicians can see the f***** s***show we're in.
